Fort Dodge Iowa

Conclusion
Fort Dodge balances the pros and cons very well, I believe. Fort Dodge has a large crime rate as a con, but Fort Dodge doesn't have murders is a pro. Most neighbor hoods feel safe, for having such a high crime rate. We have a small town feel but don't have a small enough city to not have fun things to do. We have 25,000 people which is small compared to big mega cities like Chicago and Des Moines, but we still have enough things to do to please them, such as Fort Frenzy and Golf Courses. Fort Dodge has a good balance between their pros and cons.
The project changed my view on the community. I realized there are way more assets than challenges after interviewing all of these people. They listed so many things that are good about Fort Dodge, but the only challenges they complained about were the roads and the crime rate. I didn't realize we had assets like the: mall, apple orchard, and the farmers market. I didn't realize people actually liked our mall, I thought that it was stupid and that we needed better, but some people enjoyed it some people hated it. I never knew about the farmers market until know. I learned a lot about Fort Dodge and what people want changed about it.
I would like to see all of the assets that everyone said kept, except for the mall. I do not like our mall, because there isn't a large varity of stores. There are some shops that are empty and the mall just look run down. Fort Frenzy needs to stay, all of our sports places, and our school system all need to stay the same except the high-school, it needs remodeled. Our roads obviously need fixed, and our crime rate also needs fixed. Having them fixed is our number 1 priority, because they are the things that are complained about the most.
