The demographics impact Fort Dodge, because it basically shows how successful Fort Dodge is, and whether it is a good or a bad place to live. It tells the population of Fort Dodge, and how the population is compared to other cities in the world by education or by crime. Fort Dodge to me is a somewhat of a good place. It has a lot of crime for how little of a city we are, but it doesn't have murders like the other cities in the world. We have a lot of things to do for adults and for kids. Fort Dodge has a great school system for kids growing up in the community to attend. Overall Fort Dodge is a good place to live, because we are improving everyday, and erasing the false nicknames we were given.

ForFort Dodge consists of 26,382 people. The mojority of Fort Dodge is white, witch 22,622. 1,376 black people, 1270 hispanic, 212 asians, 553 two or more races, and 349 of some other kind of race.

In 1860 the population of Fort Dodge was only 672 people. Fort Dodge has grew tremendously sinse the start of Fort Dodge. In 1970 Fort Dodge reached it's peak for population they have ever had, however the population is gradually decreases every ten years. Fort Dodge currently has around 24,751, and is decreasing still.

Fort Dodge has a varity of schools to attend. There are public schools and there are private schools. Fort Dodge has schools all the way from preschool to a sophmore in college. Fort Dodge as a great school system and great school sports activities.

The crime rate may seem bad, but it's not. The crimes that happen in Fort Dodge mostly consists of theft and burgalaries. Other cities in the United States have murders and houndreds of rapes. Fort Dodge has had less murders in 10 years than Chicago has in half a month. You would rather live in a city that has thefts, than have to worry about being killed. Fort Dodge's crimes have gone done sinse 2000.

Fort Dodge is close to Iowa's average in every category of amount of education, but Fort Dodge is still lower in everyone of them. We have such a high percentage in education less than highschool, because it's the citizens that are still in school. 14.1% of Fort Dodge's population is 3,500, which is about the amount of students we have attending highschool or lower. 

 

Location

Fort Dodge Iowa, 50501, is the county seat of Webster County which is located in the midwest of Iowa. The cordinates for Fort Dodge are 42.5067° N, 94.1803° W. Fort Dodge is to the west of the Mississippi River. We are located in the "American Heartland".
